Why would anybody care?
If you do seriously care about celebrities, please give me a good reason why (if there is one).

I prefer to occupy my time with constants, equations, and values, such as the Planck constant. Not only do I find them interesting, but they have profound implications throughout the entire universe.

sendittojeff, you could say you have a *SOCIAL* life. It seems as if you have no academic life. I have no social life. I DO have an academic life.

Those constants, equations, and values that you resent so much are *MUCH* more important than being "cool."

While I completely agree that any news about Paris Hilton isn't worthy of my time, you go a little far here. There's nothing wrong with being engaged with pop culture. It's fun. Trying to occupy your time with Planck's constant seems like an affectation a high school science jock would take on.

That being said, I think the important lesson here is that Paris Hilton should be ignored by the media and allowed to live out the rest of her life in complete obscurity.

IF she does (and that's a BIG if), you can bet she won't be serving time in the LA County jail, where she belongs. Actually, she deserves about 5 years for bad attitude, and that's before we even get to the legal stuff! But $$$$ is the answer for all criminals to escape proper punishment, isn't it? Especially celebrities - why in the world is there anything to "celebrate" about people like Paris? They never did anything to contribute to the world being a better place to live.

This society is media and celebrity obsessed unfortunately. The media eats up everything and word brainless celebrities like Paris, Lindsay Lohan, etc. do and gives them WAYYYY too much attention. It's shameful but true!

probable not. do not you think of the Hilton's have bribed the choose, sherriff, whoever with loose room & nutrition at any hotel at any time? keep in mind funds talks no count the place you reside or who you're. I don't care about stupid celebs. There are other things out there that we should be bother about like hunger and starvation in Africa, the war in Middle East countries, climate crisis etc.

And if i do care about celebrities, it would be those who are dealing with charity e.g. Bono from U2.

Its just entertainment, some people are not as fortunate to have the intelligence you seem to have, so they turn to television, and what is all over tv? Celebs... and frankly I think it is funny she is going to jail... Show her true Simple Life!
