Isn't it the Iraqi people who should win?
Its THEIR war on their soil...not ours!
Aren't we were just there to pay the bills
and babysit?

Because the Bush agenda is a permanent presence in Iraq to guarantee all future Iraqi oil development to the likes of ExxonMobil. If Iraq were to become a Shiite Theocracy, there is a real possibility that those rights would go to someone else other than one of Bush's friends, and Cheney's company Halliburton would lose their gravy train.
You are right, the agenda does not give a hoot for the people of Iraq, just the oil.

You pretty much answered your own question. Yes, it is time for the "Babysitter" to go home now & let the Iraqi Shiites & Kurds wipe out all the Al Qaeda terrorists & defeat the minority Iraqi Sunnis which will not only end the civil war but will win the war on terror in Iraq by the Iraqis themselves.

You are right. The U.S. is there to babysit. It is that country's war, but is better known as "Bush's War". Therefore, the Republicans who still stand behind Bush say that they have to win this war. Otherwise Republicans know they will be voted out of office come the elections of 2008. So that is why I believe they say they have to win this war.

Hmm, "pay the bills and babysit"...
Isn't that akin to robbing the child of it's inheritance (oil), dismantling the child's house, and then telling the child it should be grateful we're there to look after it? Indeed the child is being looked after by an irresponsible adolescent.

Because the Republican approach is to situate the war as America vs. Terrorists, and to conceptualize Iraq as one of the leading fronts in that global war.
Republicans would say we have to win the war so you can continue to have the freedom to voice objections like you're doing.

Osama Bin Laden and his crew said that they have decided that they want to EXTERMINATE every last man woman and child in the United States of America. Therefore if we do not exterminate the terrorists we will be exterminated by said terrorists. We are fighting with a group of people who are fanatical believers and willing to commit acts of evil by wearing a bomb to a public place and press the button for the bomb they are wearing.
This means they do not care if they are all dead as long as they take at least one of us with them when they die. If you do not understand that then you cannot understand who we are fighting with. The country of Iraq is where both sides have decided that the current battle theater site is.
The terrorists hit us on 09-11-2001 trying to cause us to surrender to them do you really want to surrender to a group of fanatics that are that determined and committed to their cause? If you are then please move to the middle east because that is where they have taken over government and run it in a tyranical manner.
Saddam was/is a tyrant and he made the Iraq country unable to repel and defeat the fanatics that have moved in and taken over parts of Iraq after his removal by our military. This means we owe the citizens of the Iraq country at least enough supplies and training to defend themselves and their borders otherwise we will have to go there again and again until all the fanatics that want America dead are themselves dead and buried.
After Saddam was deposed for supporting our enimies our enimies went into Iraq and started murdering the people of Iraq. If we fail in Iraq our enimies will use Iraq as a base of operations against us.
The Iraqi people lost along time ago and now we have to go in and free them to gain an ally in the fight against the religious fanatics that want us dead.
Many of the Old World European Countries are cowards that want to just roll over and let the the fanatics that hit us takeover and run everything.
Osama Bin Laden and his crew Murdered at the minimum 3,000 people that were our fellow citizens we owe them the dignity of being able to know that they did not die in vain.

We did win what p0art of victory do you not understand the last thing we are doing is stablizing their country and we are leaving soon, we just don't want to put a dead line on this issue that would be self defeating.

If Memory services me We WERE the country that started the Iraqi War.
If WE do not win the war but instead withdraw prematurely things will be worse there than they were with Saddam in power.
Since WE started it all WE should finish it properly and leave the people in control of their country. Not the country in control of the people.
