Practice makes perfect even with running, just go outside and practice sprinting 40 yards, or get some strength shoes and run full speed with those.

Drop it 8 tenths in 4-6 weeks? Never happen. Doing the parachute, weights, sprints, etc. for 12 weeks you MIGHT lower a 40 time by 2 tenths of a second. You want a 8 tenths reduction? It won't happen.

I've actually done some research on this, and one very interesting training method I came across was one that the Russians developed for their Olympic runners. The key to short distance sprinting is to find the best "stride" possible, the shorter the better. They would have their runners actually run on a decline of about 15-20 degrees. This downhill running method makes you shorten your stride. However, this method must be used every 3-4 weeks because you will always revert back to your old stride length.

Well, it's extremely hard to drop that much time of your 40 in so little training time. Just run everyday, use a weighted sled, parachute, etc. That's really the only way to do it if u wanna stay clean.

Practice keeping yourself inclined at close to 45 degrees angle.while in movement. This will reduce the wind thrust against you.Hold hands closer to the body.It would help cut wastage of energy.0.80 seconds is an achievable gain.Have faith in yourself and give that dash all you have.Never call it a try.Every day and several times a day compete with yourself.Stop comparing yourself with others.Concentrate entirely on your improvements.

Get ankle weights and run with them a lot. then when you do your 40s it will seem like your running on air because its lighter. It isnt easy... you have to work for it.
