I wouldn't say stupid, I'd say unnatural. Nothing would make me disown my children. You're supposed to love your children unconditionally not disown them because they don't match your ideal of what you would like your children to be. I wouldn't bat an eyelid if they got a tattoo, I have a few, my husband has WAAAAY more than a few. I would advise them to wait for a couple of years to see whether they still liked the same design they originally had. I thought very carefully over mine.
