Since he thinks for himself and does go by what the party is going to think
I think he should try it as an Independent.

He would have my vote but I hope and pray that Republican Primary voters in the early primary states come to their senses and realize that he (Ron Paul) is what the Republican Party desparately needs in a nominee.
I was so impressed, when I first saw him on Public Television in 1988, by how he gave straight answers to the questions that were asked to him by the reporter that I voted for him that November. It was the very first time I had ever voted for a Libertarian. I think we need him as our next President and his best chance is to be nominated by the Republican Primary Election Voters.

He would just be a "spoiler" like Ross Perot or Ralph Nader. That is, someone who will draw votes away from either major party and cause the opposite major party to win the election. Ross Perot drew conservative votes away from the Republican party candidate, and Ralph Nader drew liberal and green votes away from the Democratic party candidate. I certainly don't agree with the "winner take all" system, but the facts speak for themselves. What we really need in America is some form of proportional representation that takes into account more opinions and more viewpoints than the 2 we now have.

I think if he keeps on doing well, and the Libertarians notice, he just might decide to run for the Libertarians (provided he doesn't get the nomination) although a crazy idea would be for him to run with Tancredo under a Libertarian/Constitution unity ticket. Thanks!

If you don't want the man to waste his time and money, hope for an end to the Electoral College, because the way it is structured now, he won't get a single EC vote.

Only if someone else gets the nomination, then he should go independent or libertarian again.

"Since he thinks for himself"

Is anybody thinking here?

The result is the Republican wins, and the American Christian Taliban lunatics lord over Ron Paul and everybody else for another 4 years..
Didn't you people learn anything from Nader in 2000?

If he's going to run as any party other than Republican, it'll be Libertarian.

He would get my vote. Would hand the victory to Democrats, the Perot effect.
