Barnes and Noble. They have the best sales, best member card (Border's rewards cards only work on certain days and you have to spend $250 before they even work!), and don't sticker the back with new, higher prices in hopes that the customer is too dumb to notice.

They also have the most logical setup, and their coffeehouses serve Starbucks instead of Seattle's Best coffee (like Borders). Seattle's Best is actually owned by Starbucks, but their coffee just doesn't taste as good. :-)

I order more books from Amazon.com. I enjoy the ease in the search and the customer reviews. As far as real buildings go, my favorite is Antigone's in Tucson, AZ. It's a feminist bookstore but it sells everything. It has a huge children's section, new fiction, employee picks, and GLBT section. It's great, in a shopping district and hold's book discussions too.

Border's I guess... it's the closest bookstore to my house. Plus it's got a great fantasy section that's right in the front.

I love Barnes and Noble. It's always so spacious and clean. They usually have study areas outdoors and indoors, and coffee shops inside. They're never cluttered like many Borders stores I've been to. The staff has always been very cheerful and helpful.

Barnes and Noble. I love the environment. There are many soft chairs to curl up with a book in. There is usually a Starbucks in there too. It smells amazing, there are tons of books, and people there really enjoy themselves.

Front Street Book Shop, Scituate Harbor, Massachusetts

Nicest people in the world run it! Good, old-fashioned book shop with people who know how to research what you are looking for.

While I do love amazon.com and bn.com, there's nothing like the human factor and being able to actually TALK about books, poems, etc.

A used book store because I just love browsing @ what people give away. I can find almost anything @ a very reasonable price.

Goodwill if you're not looking for something specific. I read too much to buy new/full price.
