How do I go about writing a letter on my PC?

I have tried everything, notepad only lets me type & then move to a folder, I can not move the mouse to make another paragraph, it's got to be easy, but what?

In Start>Programs>Accessories you'll find Wordpad: it's a basic program but could be enough to write a letter. You can align, format (change font and size) and print text. To make another paragraph press the key Enter.
