User accounts are limited to file permissions rather than processes. In other words they limit what files a person can read or write. They can also limit access to certain folders.

In Linux you can also limit the types of files someone can execute (run an application). Windows Home edition doesn't really have that kind of security. Let's face it anyone can break into a Windows system.

Get a Linux distro if you want to accomplish those kind of things.

I've never used it because I was afraid I might mess something up, but you may have some options if you click "Start" and then choose "Run..." and type

msconfig

in the bar and press Enter or click OK.

Perhaps you could do a search on the command in Windows Help and some usable options will display.

Good luck.

You can view all programs that boot on start-up with start-up inspector it'll show you all programs that start on boot and gives you the options to disable them and only use them when you want to it's free and easy to use good luck

Why don't you dual boot your pc with two copies of XP?
Then you can just switch from one OS to the other!
You should read up on it!

not a pc geek, but i don't think you can.
what i do know is a piece of software called hyperOS, that enables you to load multiple systems on one drive that boot seperately. it's a bit pricey though.
