Sometimes I spend more/less in one year than I have the year before.
I guess it depends on the types of clothes you are buying and the reasons for buying. Are you having to get new clothes because of recent weight gain or loss? Are you traveling more for what ever reason and need to update your wardrobe to accommodate the weather conditions?
These are the reasons that would determine the purpose for buying clothes and the amount being spent.
At least for me it is.........

My daughter buys about 200 pounds of clothes each year, and she is 16...
That's probably $2000USD+. I try not to pay too close attention to the Amex bill every month. I'd get too depressed.
Not exactly sure why my daughter needs 25 pairs of shoes for either...

a couple thousand.. probably like 5 if you include hair. fashion changes with the season! 200 pounds is only like 500 US dollars right? thats not much for the whole year.
