In most situations, yes. In one case being overly sensitive means you haven't had much experience or room to grow. This is a weakness, but at the fault of the person. Some people have been hurt so much that it breaks throught their strength and makes them weeak inside. It can also be a sign of a lack of confidence. If you know someone like that it is good to build them up with kind words, not harsh tones. If you feel like this yourself.. then it is best to ignore the self help books. Go sit alone and right the things you like about yourself, and the things you do well. Focus on this and only build on the things you are poor at when you feel ready. See critisism as a way to grow not as something trying to hurt you.

hi baby, what's up but to answer your question ''YES'' honey being overly sensitive is a ''Big'' weakness because that means that you are tenderhearted, and very sad and emotional, that gives people sighs that you are paraniod and that every little thing bothers you and when you give people that sign then they will forever use you and take advantage of you. they will never respect you and they will always walk all over you forever if you don't learn to speak up/ stand up fot yourself. i just think baby that if you feel overly sensitive then you should try to take deep breaths and and just be brave and striaght and don't let mean, and evil epople get to you. and i know that it's easier said then done baby but that's how life is you know. got to go baby love ya i'm out smootches.* da diva.*

Speaking as someone who is overly sensitive it is a huge weakness. If you have it, work on it. It's no good and hinders your relationships with others.

No, sensitivity is not weakness.
Weakness is learning to ignore your feelings to avoid confronting them.
Sometimes we must control our reactions to what we percieve, and become more pragmatic about the people we are offended by, since most of them are scared of feeling anything at all.
When you are older you will master, as a skill, what others may think of as a flaw in your character.
People who barely know you will confide in you and ask your advice on personal matters, while those who think you're "too sensitive" will be lonely and bitter.

Not necessarily. Often times we use hyper sensitivity to cover other perceived flaws that we choose to ignore. By overreacting to sensitive situations we don't have to deal with any real issues that are affecting us. It's easier to hide behind a wall of tears than to discover where the tears came from in the first place.

The word 'sensitive' has many meanings. If it refers to being easily upset than it is a weakness. If it refers to an ability to observe and understand things and people besides yourself, then it has to be a strength.

Only in that being so sensitive to things makes you weak when there are times you're needed to be strong.

depends on how much it restricts one from having a fulfilling life. Generally, I'd say no. If on the other hand one is being limited too much in enjoying life and having meaningful experiences, then yes it would be a weakness, or at best something that needs to be worked on.
