We can only assume that our dryers are actually portals to some other realm of existence where there is no shortage of socks.

Every washing machine on the market comes equipped with its very own sock monster. They do make bags that you can put the socks in to wash them so they don't get lost. Ours seem to walk off with the help of a little four legged creature with a sock fetish. I've also found them from time to time stuck inside my pants leg after washing.

I know now where they go, I used to think the washing machine had them for breakfast ,lunch & tea. Until One day I was looking after my daughter´s dog, I had just emptyed a load of washing into the basket, Normally I fold them as I take them from the machine, find it quicker and easier, when it comes to hanging them on the line, but just at that moment the phone rang. So after I finished speaking on the phone i carried on folding the clothes& I found I was left with 1 odd soak. I know I put them all in, I made sure they were all paired up. looked in the machine , nothing. Then the dog came towards me & what did it have in it´s mouth. YES, the remains of the sock I could´t find. So that´s what happen´s to them, if you have no dog. then no idea.

When taking off your socks, pin them together with a big safety pin, before putting them in the laundry hamper/basket. Then on wash day, unpin them, & voila, your socks are washed together.
