I did but it could have been me nesting. Plus, the majority of the tags on the clothes tell you to wash them before using them. You can buy dreft at the local grocery store and wash them.

I would not wash ALL of your baby clothes until after the baby your baby is born. Even Dr.'s make mistakes, what if your little girl ends up a boy (or vice versa). Also, if you have a big baby, or one that grows quickly, he or she may not even fit into the tiny stuff. Or if your baby is little, some things may be out of season by the time he or she can wear them. In all of these cases you can take your clothes back if you need to - unless you have already washed them.

I washed both of my kids' clothes in Dreft, for as long as the bottle lasted. I kinda wish I hadn't washed them all before the baby came though, because half the clothes they didn't even wear. I recommend just washing the clothes you know they'll wear at first.

I go for a C-Section next Friday. Decided today that I would wash the newborn stuff and wait for the 3-6 month clothes.

I washed all my daughter's clothes before birth... I hung all her clothes (onesies and all) I just want her room to look nice when she arrived. I think it is a good thing to wash them all because you never know if she or he decides to come early, you will be prepared. Well at the the clothes will be. Congrats and good luck!!
**Wash with baby drift or baby all!!**

Personally, I washed everything first. I'm not quite sure why...lol...other than I just wanted them to smell fresh when the baby wore them the first time. Also, I never used that baby laundry soap. I always used the same laundry detergent that I used on the family's clothes and I never had a problem.

ive heard that you are supposed to wash clothes before you let your baby wear them - the dyes in the fabric may irritate the babys skin.
i've washed some of the clothes..
i just dont want to wash all of them yet because im not sure how big she'll be when she comes out, and im not sure how long she'll be wearing newborn clothes (we have SEVERAL outfits).
i just dont want to tear the tags off and wash them all, just incase i have to return some of them!!.
i figure i'll wash as i need to!

congrats on the baby!!

I would just wash the clothes that you are gonna use right away. then wash the rest after the baby grows they grow quite
fast, don't overwhelm yourself! As you wash them they will be nice and fresh, if you wash them if while the baby grows.

Now that depends. With my first son I did. With my second son, I swore up and down that he was a girl, and only washed a few things, so I could exchange the blue for pink if I was right.
Buy some dreft. They sell it at the grocery store or Walmart or Target, or Babies R Us. Good luck and Congrats!

Yeah, you'll want to wash everything before your child wears it for the first time. Not all, but some companies use some pretty nasty chemicals during the packing and shipping process (including formaldehyde) that you'll want to remove before your child wears it.

I washed all the baby's clothes in Dreft for as long as the biggest bottle lasted.
