I want to get into a theatre play/musical/whatever such as Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat or CATs but how can I audition well enough to get in? I've tried practicing singing in the shower countless times, singing in front of EVERYBODY during free period (thus amounting to the title of laughingstock) or recess or whatever but I CAN NEVER GET IN! LIKE TOTALLY!

Any good advice or helpful tips ple-ple-ple-pleaseeeeeeee?

This person can help you learn and prepare a few musical theatre song selections in your vocal range in the prerequisite 16-32 bar range that is nearly always asked for. 16 bars usually translates into about 1 minute of music (and is the more comon request of casting directors) and 32 bars is usually about 2 minutes. You almost never sing the whole song at an audition, just part of it. And FYI... The best 16 bars is usually the last 16 bars because it has the big finish.

At an audition, usually you bring your music, clearly marked (start & end) so the accompanist knows exactly what you plan to sing. Depending on the type of venue, you may also bring a headshot and resume. It sounds as if you may be starting at school or a community theatre, so those things will not be necessary, but the music will be almost anywhere.
