I know this doesn't seem like a big deal but I need a suggestion. I recently applied to Dunkin Dounuts. I gave the application to my friend who works there and she said that the manager said that he would call me this week. Its been about 5 days. Should I call? If so, what should I say? Thanks!

Since you submitted your application through your friend, perhaps you can ask them to check on the status for you?

I'd wait another week. Managers get busy and distracted. It's gonna take him a bit longer to get back to ya then what they say.
If you hear nothing in another week, ask your friend about it or call the manager. Just tell him you applied a couple of weeks ago and wandering if you can expect anything.

If you really want the job why dont you wear some good clothes and go down to dunkin doughnuts and politely ask the manager if he has had a chance to review your application.
do this a few times and when you do bring back a dozen cake doughnuts with white icing and coconut flakes on them please

It might have been the case he forgot or was too busy. Its common for many employers not to phone back applicants if they haven't got the job.
Just phone and ask about the current status of your application.
