Ring tones can be edited on a computer and downloaded via a WAP server that your cell phone can access if it has a web browser built into it. I have a Kycera KX160b and what i do is i make MIDI files on my computer.. and use Acid Pro (Sony product) to edit the volume of it.. save it again as another MIDI then i upload it to a WAP server (www.myphoned.com is a good site to use cuz it sends a text to your phone with the download link in it, you have register for it but it's free) and just download it to my phone. if you have any more comments or anything feel free to IM me at my Yahoo IM i'm on 24/7. usually LOL

Assuming you've got the volume set at highest there's not much more you can do. However some ring tones sound louder than others, ones with higher pitches and simple notes can be better, probably due to the tiny sounder in the phone. You can get gadgets that light up when the phone rings, however they can and do give false alarms. If you have the option to change your phone then you could choose for a loud tone, probably mean a bigger phone though.
