If you are inclined to put the word "socialized" in your response, don't bother answering. Thanks. Doctors would continue to be self-employed. They would not work for the government. You could choose your doctor. Nobody would make that decision for you. No, it would not be more expensive. Besides, we could always divert money from the bloated defense budget.

You are correct Sam.

People do not seem to get that the key is to provide public health care INSURANCE, not public health care. Taxes are not effected as the non profit government agency would force, through competition, private health care companies to lower their rates.
Many states already offer this type of plan for those making under 20K per year. With federal aid the states could afford to raise that number significantly.

When you spoke of diverting money from one government expenditure to another, you spoke of socializing medicine. Nice attempt to censure alternative opinions.

As long as it would be run by the government and funded by the government, we don't want it.

Check out your older relatives on Medicare. It isn't such a wonderful thing.
