I have a problem. Before I am falling asleep I often think of somebody using violence against me. It can keep me awaken for a few hours, as all I have on my mind is somebody hitting me. Is this a kind of obsession? I had a violent relationship once, but also I remember having similar feelings (maybe not so often and not so strong) when I was a child. I used to imagine somebody hitting me and I was very afraid, but somehow it made me feel comfortable with it (if you know what I mean).
Any good advice?

Sounds like a trumatic experience. You might want to see a doctor for that. They can probably help you more than people in this forum.

It sounds like counseling would be a good idea, and maybe some medication. It sounds like you have intrusive thoughts over which you have no control.

yes, I agree with everyone else. You need to talk to someone about this and I am no specialist, but for your own well being, go talk to someone about your feelings and it should all work out.
