the oil goes in the valve cover. that is on the top of the engine . a round knob like thing will be there most often it says oil. oil should look like maple syrup. it should not look black .
to be safe just go to any gas station that serves the gas and ask them to check the oil ask the person to show you how to do that and where to add oil and when .
its very simple .

About what car are we talking? All cars require oil in the engine's crankcase. If you have to ask, don't open the hood! Just bring the car to a service station and they'll happily take care of it.

Under the hood there is a round cap that says oil.

If you do not know what or where it goes I would defin. reccomend bringing it in...or have some who actually KNOWS show you
