It sounds like your wheel balancing and/or your tracking could be out. Otherwise have your rotors checked by a garage.
It could also be your break discs.

Go get that front end examined. You didn't say what the vehicle is - depending upon what you are driving it is either brakes or ball joints(front end) either way - if you aren't careful it could be the last thing you do. Also, a tire out of round would cause the same sensation but it would also make it damn near impossible to go 70-80 so it can't be that, if the wheel started to shake when you went over a railroad tracks that could be the steering box. But i vote front end -

It may be your tyers are not balenced properly. If you take it to a garage, then they'll do it for you. (I have had this before).
Be also careful that garages can rip you off, so take someone older with you, or a bloke who knows what they're talking about.
It may not be so bad as it's only happening a high speeds, but you need to get it checked out anyway otherwise it could get worse, (well it will) and it could cause yourself an accident.
Or it could be your steering box, but you won't know till you get it checked.

Could be that your tires need balancing or that your anti-lock brakes are just that way. We had a brand new car that when we braked it always jiggled a little. We asked the dealer and he said that sometimes the anti-lock brakes do that. You should have your car checked out though to be safe.

Sounds like your front brake discs are warped which will cause wheel shake and also put undue stress on front joints and bushes get it checked before you have to replace the lot

Sounds like the brakes, I would stop driving it and get it fixed instead of asking this question. PS, speeds above 70 are illegal in this country.

Ford ABS is bad for that and along with your brakes it could be your suspension bushes!
Wheel alignment and balancing would vibrate while your driving not braking!
Most likely the rubber suspension bushes are worn!

you defenitely need new discs and pads, common fault warped discs caused by going at 80 mph and suddenly applying the brakes a lot (excess heat)

Sounds like you need a brake job and front end alignment.
