why doesn't my audio work?

It says that the audio and the driver is installed, but in the control panel it says there is no audio device installed

You need the right drivers. If you have a dell, hp, gateway, or compaq you can go to there websites and dl the latest drivers. Also if you put this system together yourself you can look up your audio device on the internet and go to the manufactures website.
