It went down in an electrical storm, the surge protector didn't do its job. The tech-people at the store said I should be able to save them but I don't know how

You can try to put the drive in another PC.

There are companies that take broken hard drives and restore them - for a fee of course.

You can also buy software that claims it can restore your disc, but I haven't tried any of those. That's why it is VERY important to always backup your PC.

You may need a new Power Supply, and you're PC should atleast turn on. To get ANYTHING, you need you're PC to atleast be turned on, or you can take the hard drive and place it in another computer.
