Hello there, I remember reading somewhere that you should hold off household improvements such as new hardwood floors when you have a young baby. Right now I am living with my in laws and they are thinking of getting hardwood floors. I need to know is this dangerous to my 4 month old son? I’m not sure what is involved in the process of installing hardwood floors or what chemicals are used. Does anyone have any information on this or any articles/WebPages I could read? If I had proof that it was dangerous to my son’s health maybe I could convince them to hold off.

This could be the best for you and your baby having wood floors means a cleaner home it helps with allergies, asthma, and many more benefits besides easy to clean. you don't have to worry or stress about any one spilling anything .As for installing hard wood no chemicals used unless you have tiles and you don't want to take them out then they would use glue. But it will get really dusty and that's never good.Keep your baby in a room away from all this or go out, it will be a chance to walk and help you get home even more relaxed. This is all so the best way to have" you" time since you live with your in laws because it is a very good reson. Good luck with your new baby.

There may be something in this article: http://www.livingnaturally.com/PDFDocs/a/A636TPS8UC2K9K4E0DGPUJ0JK3RP9LWF.PDF
(It looked like it on the search engine, but I didn't read the whole thing).

A good source for you might be to go down to a local flooring installer (or even Home Depot or Lowes) and ask them.
