Generaly inside the frame rail under the truck below the drivers seat.

If it's realy not there.
There is a replaceable filter inside the carburator where the fuel line hooks up.
1" 1/8 big nut looking thing that's hard to remove.
Don't loose the spring inside of it.

i used to own a 89 s10 years ago with a 2.5 liter. most cars or trucks aronnd that year are on the driver side brtween the bed and cab, follow your fuel lines , there will be two lines, an in or the flow, and a return. or out. there will be a cover over it, its flimsy, think two bolts takes it off. take off your lines. dont strip them, watch out cause its probley under pressure, fuel will get on your hand if ur not carefull. keep line pointed up as high as it will reach or kink it and wedge it between a hole in the frame.. install it by following the arrow. on the filter. or you can take it to a local shop DO NOT SPEND MORE THEN 20.00 FOR THEM TO REPLACE IT, ITS A SIMPLE PROCEDURE.
