I used to live in a small spanish port in southern spain, off the beaten track, you couldn`t by a flat there for less than e100.00 , only way you would find a town house at that price would be well inland and derilict possibly a village not discovered by the brits.

your just across the border from Gib so la Linea would have caught the English bug of high prices i tried to buy a bungalow in Gib some years back and it was a terrific price so i guess they are at a premium so if you want a house like the Spanish live in you have to go well inland

Sorry to burst your bubble but the only thing you will get for that money is a plot of land and a caravan thats providing you get permission to put a caravan on it.
i would use it as a down payment and mortgage the rest.
be careful though lots of sharks here so do your homework
and concentrate inland as they are cheaper than the coast good luck.

Nobody lives in La Linea. It is a dump. But even so you will not get a place for £20,000.

You are joking! There's nothing here habitable for that amount of money, but hold on to your dosh a bit longer as there could be something as prices are starting to fall because nothing's selling here, anywhere, at all!
