I've seen a few episodes of this show, and that the end the people always say stuff like "I feel like a whole new person" but I mean come one, you're still the same person, you just LOOK different and (obviously) a lot better. But they change every little thing about themselves. Shouldn't we all love ourselves despite our physical flaws?

What do you think?

I think that show usually focuses on people that have pretty serious self image issues and i think it helps them. i'm not a huge fan of plastic surgery and vanity, but i think that particular show does a good job of selecting people who are doing it for legitimate reasons.

Those people are suffering from a major case of inferiority complex. Some are in real need of medical help and nothing wrong if they decide to go under the knife.
What l don't like is when they also change their attitude. l remember one changed woman who started dating other men and neglecting her boyfriend on the side. She thinks she's so beautiful. Tsk...tsk..tsk

I agree with you. We should love ourselves (and family and friends) no matter what our own or their physical\character flaws are. I don't neccesarily think they are shallow, but something is up with them. I'd rather be on Big Brother.

nahhh I really think they do feel like a new person.....Like people on the Swan were so bad that no one ever liked them. When they got the new look they feel like they can fit in with the crowd instead of stand out. Im sure they love themself's but.........people probably made them hate them self's based on there looks.

lol.

i think it brings up their self esteem and thats important. but they shouldnt have to go on a "show" to prove it. they should just do it in private. also if its a flaw like "small boobs" (which to me isnt a flaw at all) then i understand the whole "loving ourselves for who we are"
but if its like a huge scar thats bringing you down then go for it.

Yes, we should all love ourselves, even those of us who portray themselves to the world as a box of Trix cereal.
