As of this writing, the polls have just closed and the media are projecting a landslide for Sarkozy, the conservative pro American, Pro Bush, pro war on terror, law and order candidate. Also quite significant is the fact that they are claiming 86% voter turnout.

Perhaps we are seeing the emergence once again of the "silent majority". This may well be the bellwether of things to come.

Well, after 12 years under Chirac's armpit... now French has to swallow the bitter fact that the new president for French is gonna be no different from GW Bush.

I think it's really sad that Sarkozy won...It was the worst choice the French could have done...
