Is it plastic, or is it a rubberized cotton material? Help, i don't have a clue what it is!

After a look in my dictionary I would say cotton waterproofed with oil, or a modern replacement for it.
Used to be used for raincoats before plastic was invented.

I am not exactly sure but my grandmother calls her lino on the kitchen floor oil cloth. so it might be old fashioned linolium.

cloth, usually canvas, painted with oilpaint. Originally the canvas would be from ships sails.
