My husband and I have been buying through eBay for years. As of yet we have not had any problems.
Yes. There are people out there that will try to cheat you. But I think most are very honest people. Be sure to look at their feedback. If they have lots of feedback and at least 90% is positive... then you are probably pretty safe to buy from that person.

You have to go through ebay and if you go through paypal you should have a better chance of getting your money back. Don't use a check get a MO or preferrably paypal. I think if you report your item not recieved then you can go through steps and eventually get your money back. However, you should be able to tell if an item is fake by the way pictures and how everything is said.

That is why PayPal is used. They take care of all the financial things, and guarantee that you will receive your product or they refund your money. I will not deal with people who do not accept PayPal. I have had them refund me for am item that never came, and it was a very positive transaction.
If, however, you do send money and do not receive the product, E-Bay has a fraud department, which will also go to work for you.
E-Bay wants to protect its business, and if people buy things but are only taken for their money, E-Bay would not be in existence.

Well i wouldnt send a personal check because that coukd happen...and even if you could do something with your bank it would take forever to get your money back...why dont you just get money out of your bank and make it into a money order...or something like that. Or make a PayPal account. The money order will atleast show you proof you sent that man/woman money. Good luck!

well you could file a complaint with ebay and dispute the auction, they would then contact the seller, next time pay with paypal, you're protected, if you don't recieve the item for any reason they reverse the payment, however since you paid by check you can file a small ckaim against the seller..good luck

You would need to sue with civil court- This is hard out of state, and when you get a judgement, it may be impossible to collect. You should use a credit card- or paypal.
