Norton is better than Mcafee, many say Mcafee have a low successful removal rate of viruses and that Norton is Bloatware, people are right about the Mcafee but Norton isn't bloatware unless you are poor and have a crappy PC. I'd recommend buying Norton Anti-virus 2009 for around $20-$40 at a local Best buy or something, they have been reliable for over 10 years and have been recovering from their so called criticisms of the 2000's in the last few years. I wouldn't cheap out on a cheap free Antivirus like AVAST because it just doesn't get the job done like something your paying for.

no norton and mcafee both take up too much memory which slows you down, norton can be hard to uninstall and mcafee can at times do nothing at all. being A+ certified and a programmer as well as a computer technician for several years i not only recommend AVG to clients, which is a free and effective antivirus program, I use Avg on all my computers and any computer i build for a client. It's free and very effective and it works very well in tandem with almost any antispyware program. When you team trend micro's antispyware or adaware with avg you can uncover trojans that other antispyware and antivirus will miss alone, the other progrmas simply dont function the same even when teamed with a good antispyware program, download a free copy of avg at their website or www.download.com and also try a free edition of adaware and i'm sure you will be pleased. your welcome in advance.

RE:
Is McAfee a good Antivirus?

Used McAfee down loaded free from BT who have stopped recommending this. The PC was slowed down as it worked in the back ground. Used AVG which was okay as it was free but an updated crashed the PC, not touched it since. Used Norton over several years and it worked okay. Kaspersky is good and slightly better than Norton as the PC runs a bit faster. At present have 360 Total Security which is free software from a Chinese company Qihoo
It runs quietly in the back ground with regular updates and tells you how quick your pc boots up. Got Windows 10 and has not taken more than 55 seconds to start. I have carried out a scan and carried on working in Flash with out any slowing down, well none that I noticed unlike other AV software.

Here are two reason why Mc Afee is no good. 1) it is a resource hog. 2) Fails to catch viruses.

Here is an antivirus program I use for ten years and never had one virus. Read their webpage and judge for yourself.

You only pay a one time fee of $29.99 for life, that includes all updates and all new versions. Also the technology finds viruses in every type of compressed file.

Read the webpage and if you like what you read this is the antivirus of choce I have used for over ten years and never one virus.

By culture the Chinese are very secret just about everything and that includes their software.

This antivirus program out of Beijing, China that is also used by the Government of China.

This antivirus program does not have the Govt. permission to be rated with all other known antivirus programs.

What I can assure you is that you pay only a one time fee for life that will include all auto updates, and all new versions for life. The Chinese don't believe in having to pay an annual fee for updates or new versions.

I can tell you their technology is light years ahead of any other known antivirus software out there.

If you open a webpage and there is a hidden virus it will clean in realtime. Anything that you download and has even a trace code, it will kill the download and ask you to upload the trace code for investigation. In real time the upload will tell you if it is clean or not.

Will not allow you download, Real Player, because there is a hidden file that is a trojan keylogger. The file was uploaded and traced back to the United States Army, Intelligence Services out of London, England. (Removal of the file Real Player will reject the installation).

Read for yourself at their webpage. I have never had one virus in ten plus years. Plus it will catch any progam with it's dynamic defense system, for software that you download and it does not have a publisher or lic., included.

Twister Trojan Antivirus V7

Very low on resources with scanner running in background.
