I replaced the coils/wires on my well running CB350 because of decay and cracking.

After I got everything hooked back up correctly, it started up easily but now the left side feels significantly weaker at the muffler vs. the right side.

Around 4-5k RPM's the bike starts to backfire and struggle to go. I pulled the spark plugs and they seemed fine - not white lean or soaked rich - a middle like brown color.

Could this be a points problem?

clean and set the points. check the voltage. if its below 12 volts running, its not gonna run right. those old charging systems are just about falling apart by now. if it has low voltage the ignition dont work right.

considering of the powerband, 2 strokes, individually are extra amusing to force, however, you might emerge as going quicker at the RMz. the rmz is a torque-y motorbike and the YZ is screamin robust 2 stroke. if its amusing and pace, be taught find out how to experience the 2 stroke to its complete advantage. 2 strokes want extra traditionally preservation, however now and again you are going to ought to difference the piston in a 4 stroke and exchange the valves.. and thats steeply-priced! YZ 250 best finish package is simplest approximately one hundred fifty with gaskets and all. in case you desire quick.. (many men and women would possibly name me loopy for suggesting this) get a cr500. .... ultimately the rmz could also be quicker however its additionally an issue of opinion and using kind that might have an impact on your lap instances particularly slightly. In that case, i might move with the YZ250. If your no longer constrained via the displacement (ie a hundred twenty five, 250 or open elegance) get the YZ and if you want extra pace you'll get a enormous bore 285cc package a good way to fairly make the motorbike fly. However, there are extra zippy four strokes than the rmz individually. The CRF450 packs a best finish punch to be envied. however proscribing it to the motorcycles you will have displayed, i might take the YZ.
