You are undertaking an age group that wants activity and fun. As a professional, I suggest planning each lesson or group activity on exploring the world around them (that takes work on your part). For example...planning a picnic...a day at the zoo....dinosaur stories....etc...It is fun for them to be able to answer simple questions but also it teaches a lot....which shoe do you put on first....why? The flyers should be directed to parents who have kids at odds after school but before the parents have completed their own work day or had time to relax.

Are you a Teacher at a School?
It really depends. You may contact the School and see what they may do to help. Also, the flyer's is a start. Another possibility is attend a PTA meeting and discuss this with those present. But, today with things as they are you need to be careful and qualified for what you intend to do and having other reputable Adults around is a good idea.

Contact your state and see what there regulations are on that. Then you can start you PR. Flyers are good, Ads in the Newspaper, and online inquires. You may also want to register with the local Child Care network and well call the local schools that have children ages 6-10 to ask them to add your name and service in their weekly newsletter.

You may want to CPR and First Aid--So parents feel fully comfortable with you having their children during the afternoon.
