The date of my last period was on march 13 of 07. According to many internet resources, I'm 7 weeks and 5 days along. How would you calculate that in months and days etc?
you can't count 4wks as a month, or a pregnancy would last 10 months.
so when people ask me how many months I am, when I'm about 8 wks, do I say two? one and a half?
i'm confused, haha.
thanks a bunch!

You are right! You can't just divide weeks by 4 because most months have more than 4 weeks -- you end up with two weeks extra over the course of the pregnancy.
AND a pregnancy is NOT 9 months like most people think. It's almost 10.
It's better to go by weeks -- more accurate.
BUT since everyone will be bugging you about months, here is what you can do: Count backwards from your due date.
If you are due on Dec 20, for example, you will be 8 months on Nov 20, 7 months on Oct 20, etc. 2 months on May20!! So now you could just say 1 &1/2 months, or "almost 2."
It makes people happy, and you won't have to be constantly explaining things.
Have a great pregnancy!

Early in my pregnancy when people would ask I told them by the week, it was easier that way. Then when I got farther along I told them by month just going by 4 weeks per month. And you are pregnant 10 months, normal term is anywhere from 36 to 40 weeks. Once I got 9 months it just stayed there, I didn't tell people I was 10 months or anything. So you're 7 wks 5 days I'd say 2 months it's close enough.

This is something that is confusing. All growing up you here a pregnancy is 9 months but once you become pregnant they start talking in weeks and actually start counting time before conception so your "Total Pregnancy" lasts 40 week. I usually say how far along I am in weeks and when I reached 10 weeks left I started telling them how much time I had left. So now I tell people... 6 weeks to go.. or less!!!
Congrats!!

You are 6 months and 4 days, because 6 x 4 is 24.

Actualy at 4 weeks you are 1 month and at 8 weeks 2 months etc. Pregnancy is a FULL 9 months. The typical average for pregnancy is 40 weeks, most women deliver sometime between 37-42 weeks, and most caregivers won't let you go much past 40 weeks, so when you add it up you'll usualy deliver during your 9th month. My first child was born at 41 weeks so I was pregnat all the way into the 10th month! Check out Babycenter.com, they can give you great answers to all of your pregnancy questions.....

Sorry but in medical circles a pregnancy is counted in LUNAR months which equal 10- A lunar month is 4 weeks. A pregnancy is 40 weeks.
It makes a great deal of difference in fetal development by the week. If people ask tell them the # of weeks.

Yes you do count four weeks as a month as technically a typical pregnancy lasts 40 weeks, or 10 months.
So you would be one month, three weeks, and five days along.
Congrats!!!!

Pregnancy is almost 10 months long! You are almost 2 months along. I don't know why everyone says 9 months, it's definitely not.
Congrats!
Very Best Wishes!
