has anybody ever eaten octopus or squid and if so what did it taste like?

don't do it...my fiancee made me try it and said it was really good, i almost threw up....it's so slimy!!!

I think octopus has a much stronger fishy taste than squid. And the texture of the suckers don't really help either. They're both kind of rubbery and chewy. I'll take calamari over octopus any day.

We eat Taco in Hawaii and it is raw squid. It tastes fishy and salty with the texture of tomatoes. Dried cuttlefish which is dried young squid was very good. It had a smokey taste from the drying process

I like deep fried squid in batter (Calamari) if it's fresh and cooked properly otherwise it is really chewy and tasteless.
It has a mild fish taste but it's the sauces you can have with it that bring out the flavour.Eaten on its own it's very bland.

Yes Octopus is too chewy for my taste squid is my favorite seafood of all just make sure it is prepared right. Its cheap and low in fat and cholesterol.

squid is good, ever heard of calamari?
I haven't had octopus, but Im sure its the same. Kinda rubbery, and a lot like shrimp or clams

I get stuffed squid from this Japanese restaraunt here all the time, it's really good, tastes similar to shrimp, but not as strong flavored

It doesn't really taste like anything but what you season it with. I've had raw squid a bunch and it really just tastes like what you marinate it in.

I have had both...I didn't enjoy octopus at all, but I like squid occasionally.

Yeah I have had octopus, but I don't really remember because I was in fourth grade.
