... washing your hands if you dry them on a very dirty towel? I think we should just use that sanitizing soap stuff that rubs in your skin so you don't need to wet them or dry them. What do you think?

I agree and understand your viewpoint. More often than not people will wash their hands just to go and touch the filthy bathroom doorknob anyway.
The thing with the sanitizer that rubs into your skin is that it dries it. If you use that stuff too much your skin becomes very dry and flaky. This is because alcohol is the main ingridient in those sanitizers.
Also, washing their hands is more of a force of habit and comfort of mind thing for most people. They know their hands will stay clean for all of 2 seconds, until they touch the digusting knob for the water in the sink (which is super dirty since EVERYONE touches it before washing their hands in the first place).

Um I don't dry my hands on a dirty towel. Just shake them off in the air.

There is no point, obviously. Change towels frequently.
The sanitizing gels kill the good bacteria along with the bad bacteria, so it's not always a good idea.

My problem with those soaps is that they are very harsh on my skin. They have alcohol in them (which is why it dries) and it dries my skin out terribly.
