The USA gives freely to other countries everyday 365 days a year.. no questions asked. Because its what we do. Help anyone when its needed. It has been that way for years. And truly...the last thing we expect is any form of help from any other country when the problems fall on our people.
Most countries could care less about the USA as long as they get what they want when somthing happens to them. Hence the reason the Government turns down any aid when its offered.
And..I believe the US government truly treats other countries people better than it does its own people at times. Case in point.. "Iraqi people get Billions in aid to rebuild its country.. free. Never pay it back." " But..this Tornado in Kansas.. the US government offered these poor people..our own people!! Disaster loans to rebuild. Low interest yes... but not free. They still need to pay them back." Do we the people expect donations from any other countries ? No. We don't even expect our own government to help us. We just stick together as Americans.. and rely on our brothers and sisters to be there for us when our time of need arises.
Thats the "American Way" !

Believe it or not, when there are major disasters, some countries do offer to help, but their offers are declined by our government and you and I have to look hard to learn about them.
The tornado victims in Kansas - tragic for them (I used to live in Kansas) but a few casualties. A very small town (population less than 1500) will have to rebuild, and it is right that it gets help to do so.
But are you seriously suggesting that the money should come from people who live on a handful of rice every day and sleep on dirt floors in makeshift huts themselves? Don't be silly. You are obviously one of those people who has never seen real poverty, whereas others of us who have know your notion that the poorest in the world cannot and should not donate to the richest, even with the best intentions.

While I know there are countries that won't help the US at times of need, I also know it is greatly exagerrated. Does the US help with everything? No we don't. But we are considered the richest and most powerful country so we should help more often than most. Besides, if we really are what we say we stand for we should do so with no problem or expectations back. You don't help people with the expectation of getting something back.
As for this Kansas town tragedy, I don't know if anyone has stepped up. And if they do, we most likely won't hear about it anyway.
A lot of countries stepped up with aid for Katrina without hesitation. 911 too. So it happens. It just doesn't always get talked about in the media and Americans are often too self absorbed to care or to listen.

Oh, that'll help. How about suggesting something useful, like donating to the American Red Cross or donating blood for the injured?
