Hey
i have a leak in the brakes somewhere and i dont know where i cant see any leak on the outside or inside but the brake fluid is disappering somewhere i topped it up 1 day and the next its well below minimum
looked under car cant see any leak, again in the egine department and no leak to be seen, and checked wheels and brakes and i cant see any leak.
i got a 96 n reg renault laguna 2.2 diesel
can any1 tell me what possibly it could be and how much roughly to fix it (please uk prices)

i believe it is the cylinder that just behind the brake fluid bottle. could you roughly tell me the price to fix.

if it has servo assted brakes it will be leaking into the servo thats that big thing on the end of your master cylinder looks like a round tank you can tell if its fillng up with fluid by pressing the foot brake and starting the car the brake pedal should go down a long way if it do'nt then there is a strong possiblety that it is filling up with fluid change your master cylinder sorry about the spelling

One of your wheel calipers or cylinders is leaking. You'll probably need a pad or shoe replacement along with the caliper or cylinder on either the front or rear axle of your car. Cost will be for a normal brake pad replacement plus the caliper or cylinder ($275 estimate) This is not a routine brake maintenance item. Your brakes have essentially failed and you need an emergency repair ASAP.

It happens over time. The pressure of the brake system to stop a 3500 lbs car will wear out the seals and then leak fluid. It will happen to every car eventually.

It doesn't happen often but it does happen. the rear seal on the master cylinder may be leaking in to the power brake booster. If this is the case you need to replace both. I'm not sure what the UK price would be.

Take a look at the rear wheels on the inside from under the car!
If one looks damp and the other dry it is the rear cylinders!
This is the most common place for fluid leaks!
If so you will need to replace the rear shoes and cylinders!

If you have checked the brake cylinders and they are not leaking,then the other option is the brake master cyl leaking into the car or the servo unit

If you have power brakes, it could be leaking from the master cylinder into the brake booster that it's bolted too...only way to tell is to unbolt the master and inspect. Paul

its leaking into the master break cylinder and it would need to be replaced the cheapest option is sixty euro in a breakers yard also check the two front hubs by taking the wheels off

Inner master cylinder seal is leaking.
You need a new master cylinder.
Check your carpet under the dash.
Is it wet with brake fluid?

are you sure its actually the brakes the clutch is hydraulic and works off the same filler as the brake fluid if it is your clutch slave then this will be an expensive job as the gearbox has to be removed
