I have been wanting another baby for some time now. My husband and I talked about it and he doesnt mind either, he just wants to take "life as it comes" well I just quit taking my birth control pills 2 1/2 weeks ago with out starting a new pack. We had intercourse last night and my last period was on April 25th, when I looked it up online it said i was fertile. What are my chances of getting pregnant right after BC? I was on Ortho Tri cyclen lo. Could my ovulation be off from the BC pills?

i have heard both extremes. i have heard of women getting preg, as soon as they get off BC and for some women, it takes some time. i think this has a lot to do with the individual woman. i wanted to share with you information though, that each cycle, as long as it is timed according to your ovulation, you only have about a 1 in 4, or a 25% chance of getting pregnant. so, you could still be preg, but there is not a huge margin there.
you mentioned that you looked up online an ovulation predictor that said you were fertile. well, i would be careful about trusting those sites too much because although they are helpful as guidelines, they arent alwas the most accurate. i would pay more attention to your body than the predictors. look for eggwhite cervical mucus that is slippery, stretchy, and transparent. that is the best indicator of all that you are fertile. i hope this helps!! and best of luck trying for your baby :)

Usually it takes your body awhile to adjust to being off of the pill, BUT every woman is different. You could possibly be pregnant, depending if you actually ovulated. When you are on the pill, your body does not ovulate, therefore your ovulation will probably be off whack for awhile. I hope you get the outcome you want. Good luck

It may take a couple of months for your body to get back to normal for you to get pregnant after BC. I was on the same pill. I have been trying for 8 months now and i'm still not pregnant! good luck!!

It may take a few cycles to get pregnant after using bc but sometimes you can, just be patient and if you have any concerns talk to your doctor

pretty safe bet that you are out of whack from the pills only time will tell. it is best that you use condoms for the first three months coming off the pill . the pill could cause birth defects

its different for everyone it took me about 2 1/2 mos to get pg after bc........GOOD LUCK!
