do you have Norton? if so, if you need to do a restore again, go into Safe Mode (by pressing F5 as you start your PC) and do it from there
one of the security feature on Norton means that you cannot restore your PC, but in Safe Mode this feature is disabled

the system restore utility in windows has a limited amount of hard drive space to create restore points
however i very much doubt this problem will reoccur again,it sounds like a registry problem that was refusing to let you complete a restore
to avoid this happening again make sure you have the maximun amount of drive space allocated to system restore(12.5%),you can do this in the system restore options in system properties(right click "my computer")
now and again system restore files can become infected, and as they are automatically created into restore points, these can be hard to find and as they are infected they can make system restore unusable, this is what viruses do,like anti-virus programs they hit the actual program and disable it
so 1)make sure you use the max amount of hard drive space used for system restore and 2)make sure your anti-virus is up to date to avoid viruses
i hope this helps
good luck!

If you used your Recovery CDs to repair your PC, there are no Windows Restore Points to roll back to.
You restored your PC to "Factory Fresh".
