It doesn't depend on the gender; it depends on the personality. Some people are just better at handling power than others. For example my manager at work - who is a woman as well - cannot handle power if her life depended on it; she takes advatage of it and takes a whole body when all you give her is a hand. So to speak.
Personally when I know I have power over something I never take advantage of it, and try to handle it as wisely as humanly possible.

Equally, I can give some examples of the abuse of power in men, just like it occurs in some women. But since that isn't the question, I'll refrain from doing so.

About half of men, given political power, will use it in unworthy ways, and about half of those would cause a disaster through the abuse of, or poor judgment with, power.

But that's better than would be the case among women, among whom perhaps 90% would wield power poorly, with maybe 75% causing a disaster.

Women in power generally start wars. Margaret Thatcher did. In fact, she tried to start a few wars in addition to the ones she actually got going. Doing the typically poor job of aping male aggression (women generally go over the top when they do that), Thatcher provoked both Russia and Argentina in ways calculated to make them react, which, fortunately for the whole world, they didn't.

Queen Victoria declared war on Russia, which is why Florence Nightingale became necessary. Notice that the feminist spotlight is all on the nurse, and not on the queen? Ha.

Catherine the Great, empress in Russia, invaded and partitioned Poland. Doing that was OK, I suppose, as long as a female ruler does it. If you're male and invade Poland though, then abundant international criticism is sure to ensue.

Women don't have a good record of wielding power, on a percentage basis. It's a very good thing that they are a minority of powerful people.
