Hello. This may sound a little foolish but I am curious to see what people think of these shoes. I'm due for new shoes, and I'm debating to get Converse or not. Here in New England, Converse have this reputation of being an Emo look. I certanly do not want to look Emo, for it is a look that has no apeal to me. oh let me add in there, the type of shoes I want are Hi-tops or low tops... just to put that out there . Now what are you opions on these shoes? Do you think they are a emo look? Thank you to anyone who responds.

They are not emo. I live in New York City and everyone wears them here. I bought a pair of low tops a few months back that were made of olive, white and black tweed but I don't wear them too often because they cut into my feet and hurt after a while. I don't know if it is just the tweed versions that cause discomfort but most people who wear the regular ones seem to be very comfortable in them. I only bought them because I thought they would be different from what everyone else had on since I hate looking like everyone else. They hurt too much to wear them though, so I guess I would not recommend the tweed Converse sneakers.

Converse are not neccessarily always an emo look but they are moving more towards the punk and emo crowd. Im a shoe lover myself (20 pairs) and personally I wouldnt buy Converse simply because they are about 2 years old and they are not as unique and special anymore. If you don't buy black ones, they arent really that emo.

converses are worn by 'emos', but you can wear them if your into other styles, lots of people do :-) i think the high top ones are better, but then every body has a different personal view! i would say get a pair, your not going to be called an 'emo' for it! :-)
good luck

No. Where i live Converse is definently in style (the low-tops). People wear them all the time. I have many pairs. Alot of people i know love to wear Converse and plaid shorts. It's in style. Plus, if you like Converse and that type of style, go for it! You shouldn't care what other people think.

they have an emo reputation across the US. that doesn't mean that everyone who wears them is emo though. my boyfriend wear converse and he's the furthest thing from emo. I personally think they're uncomfortable. but if you want them, get them. just don't wear anything else remotely emolooking. you know, a gay black shirt of some shitty band, tight pants, a stud belt, and of course don't have your hair in the stupid emo cut with hair in your eyes.

Emo kids wear them, but so do preps. I personally like them and I'm def not emo or prep... so I don't think they're stricly an emo look. Plus I think it's stupid to stereotype clothes.
Good luck.

Q: "What are your opinon on the shoe's Converse?"

There are important and interesting items in the English language you may want to study up on. They are:

1] verb tense, and

2] possession.

Let me give you some examples to duplicate your question.

a] "Are the zoo a place to see the stripe's Zebra?

b] "Why is Democrats always lack reasoning's sound?

c] "Do you knows this horsepower's car?

d] "I is going to eat this crust's pie.

There are some very nice English grammar handbooks, one of which is "The Scott, Foresman Handbook for Writers, Fourth Edition, by Maxine Hairston and John J. Ruskiewicz.

Try it--you will like it! (and you need it)

I love converse!
They are for anyone, and you can even customize your own on their website.
I own 3 pairs (all high-tops) but I think low-tops are more versitile.
But beware, my friend says all of the seniors in Kenya wear converse haha, proves its not only for emos. =)
