do you think that its possible that if an advanced lifeform was facing extinction because their planet was dying, would,on failing to find a neighbouring planet that was compatable with their species survival needs, would in desperation splice their genes with a suitable candidate species(i.e primates) of a chosen planet.they would maybe then monitor the progress and development of the new 'hybrid' and maybe even intervene with 'divine' guidance whenever it followed a destructive path which was inevitably in their genetic blueprint and the reason for their own planets demise.of course on borrowed time,as the last'alien' gasped its last breath the new hybrid would be orphaned and left to fend for itself, which would explain'gods' lack of involvement now.if this could be true, surely we should not let all our cosmic ancestors hard work be in vain.peace out, face to the sun and fly on the winds of destiny.shine on shine on.

nit picking, future P? for a start, surely it would take longer to terraform a planet than a simple little gene splicing?thanks anyway but.....nahh

idle speculation timaeus?! it took alot of lsd to come to this conclusion.....lol.and anyway isnt it true that alot of science fiction comes to be and how many theorists in history have been 'poo-pooed' and disregarded to be verifyed and confirmed later.try to keep an open mind.being clever doesn't ensure you won't be ignorant

There are three theories of where we came from. Creation, evolution and genetic intervention by some alien race. All three are compatible and could be true. God could use aliens and evolution to create his worlds and races. There's evidence of aliens coming to earth for thousands, if not millions of years. I'm sure some of them got up to something while they were here.

There are a few problems with this little bit of "what-if". First, it is contradicted by the fact that humans are very genetically similar to other apes...for instance we share over 95% of our DNA with chimps. (No Bush jokes, please!) An alien race that evolved on another planet would have a radically different genome from anything found on Earth. If they created a hybrid with any species on this planet (assuming such was even possible because of the extreme differences), it would be glaringly obvious from a simple genetic analysis.
Second is the technology issue. If they have the time and technology to travel all the way to a different star system, and then create a hybrid species, then with that level of tech it would likely be much easier for them to simply terraform a different planet to their needs. Humans already have figured out how to terraform Mars, for instance. We just haven't created the technology to do it yet. But traveling among the stars is something we still have no idea how to do, short of taking many millennia to go to even the nearest stars.
Third is the morality problem, a problem inherent in religion itself. All religions differ in the morality they teach, and even within a single religion there are countless differing interpretations of what the "correct" morals are. Otherwise there wouldn't be any denominations, since all people within a religion would agree on everything. So if your aliens have given us any "divine" guidance, they sure haven't been obvious about it like they should be. If you want to teach your children a lesson, you don't give them vague, contradictory lessons that are wide-open for (mis-)interpretation.
A nice story you created, but ALL the evidence points to completely natural origins for mankind. No aliens and no gods. Indeed, humans are still such an imperfect, primitive and barbaric species that it boggles my mind that some alien or god creator could have screwed things up so royally. We may be the highest form of intelligence on this planet, but we still have a LONG ways to go before we become a truly mature species.
Hope this helps!

Like it, yeah it's definitely possible but I can't see it being a neighbouring planet and for this hypothesis to have any prudence then we have to image a superior race who mastered intergalactic space travel tens of thousands of years ago, possible but if as you suggests they originate from a dying planet then its a fu cking slow dying planet. Not sure how they would intervene in mankind's actions unless we are also suggesting this specifies are either (a) identical to us, which is what I think you were referring to, or (b) they are capable of some form of 'shape shifting'. Like the idea though, although I reckon you going to bombarded with religious moaning. I'm off to contemplate this I might even add to this after more thinking time.
see you then, good question mate

Food for thought. God created all life, so therefore, there is a distinct possibliity that He created other species of humans or human like life forms out there to inhabit other planets. I believe there is a Bible verse which says "In my Father's House there are many mansions" "My father's house" could refer to heaven or the universe itself. "Mansions" could mean the planets. Hmmmm.
I don't know if you've heard of Erich Von Daneken, he was a scientist who's theory was not too far removed from the one you've written. He believed that all the various human races, ie Asian, Caucasian, African, Native American etc, in fact, hailed from other worlds, and subsequently took up residence in the areas of Planet Earth which resembled their own. I'm not sure if I believe it myself, however it is interesting.

I read a very intetresting book (by an author whose writing I highly trust) the other week about this, that other planets are more evoloved (spiritually)than we are & once we evlove too we may join with them. I think this is the opposite scenario to your question!!! & that due to Earth for example being so polluted with negativity, wars etc, it has been quarantied from all other planets in the galaxy.
I can't remember much more but if you're interested to read about it, please email me, i have to find out the exact name of the book.

Your reflection is an example of how modernity, so desperate for a philosphical metaphysics, and yet unwilling to acknowledge the wisdom and philosophical disciplines of the past, is replacing a reasoned metaphysics with idle speculation and science fiction.

Whats mad is your ideas have more sense than most religions. The reason we look to sky may in fact be due to the fact we are aliens and eden was a space craft but despite many mad things having a chance of being true I try to be realistic
