I hate it!! Your just managing to hold it all up and then someone is nice to you and then... it all floods out!

Someone being cold and unfeeling when you are crying, I think, is worse, because if you are crying in public, you sometimes want someone to lend you a kind word, or advice. Sometimes you just want to be alone, but whether you know it or not 9 times out of 10 the kindness helps.

Hi,

I like people being nice to me when i cry, which is rarely (crying i mean). I think it would be worse if they were being mean. I find it more frustrating that people think that because you don't cry about something that you are ok..when in fact you could be in more pain than someone drowning in tears, due to the fact you have no release.

Best of luck

x

Yes, there is.

When tears need to come, then 'they need to com.' Anything that encourages it is a positive ~ unless the person doing the crying is perhaps a neurotic and 'uses tears' as a way of avoiding dealing with issues or 'things' in general (seeing 'crying' as a kind of 'Get out of Jail Free Card').

The worse thing is when you are crying in public for whatever reason and someone says 'Cheer up love, it might never happen'

Wait a second....I am crying in public, I am pretty sure that mean it has happened or else I would not be crying in public. (not that I cry in public often)

It tends to make you cry more but then I think it can be a good release, when my daughter was seriously ill recently we gave her loads of sympathy and a lot of crying went on but after a jolly good cry she always felt better.

I once had a very upsetting doctors visit, and was crying on the stairs, when a couple of strangers stopped and asked was I OK, and offered me comfort. I have never forgotten their kindness.
