i might be getting a shed in my backyard soon for band practicing, and i wanted to know if anybody had some tips to make it a good practice room. if anybody has some tips for things like cheap soundproofing, or anything i might need to make a room where i could pretty much practice in without living, that'd be really great.

If the shed is pre constructed or a kit, you can add structural, cellular, contracting grade, insulating foam sheets to the interior.

Put some type of carpeting on the floor, add some fabric or paneling to the interior walls and ceiling. All will help with sound deadening as well as some level of insulating.

Since it isn't strictly a place you'll inhabit beyond practice time you can run a heavy duty extension cord for power and lighting.

Not strictly knowing the size you're considering, the shed might best be 10 x or 12 x...similar to the size of a bedroom.

"An aside" I'm not at all intimidated by the "Thumbs down gang" whoever you are, but certainly have the courage to state who you are. I come here with honest, sincere advice, and don't exist on points. I do very well outside of Q & A, and don't offer anything I can't back up in 45 years of experiences.

Ask different people from the Home Depot. Or, look on google, and there may be places and tips.

I saw a make over show where they used old movers wraps. Maybe you can call a few movers and see if they can help.
