IT seems that people are going to church dress as they please. The tank top is ok as long as her bra straps are not exposed.

A sleeveless blouse or high necked shirt is fine. There is nothing wrong with showing your arms in church. But a tiny cotton tank top is just a bit over the top, and better saved for trips to the beach and camping trips. Also, with this situation, consider what you have seen the congregation wear in the past, and follow suit. It's fine to be different, and dress as you choose, just button up a bit for church!!

It depends on the tank and it depends on the church. She really should wear a shirt over it though.

Most of the churches I have been were cold or at least chilly.
So a tank top would not be warm enough.
If you have a shawl or so she can use that to cover up for warmth, as well as not offend the more traditional people.

If you don't feel its appropriate, maybe help you re friend make another selection. Growing up, wearing jeans to church was unheard of, but these days its more lax and does God care what you have on?

Women are probably the most beautiful of God's creations. This is why they have to be covered in the House of God. They shouldn't show off their forms so that men aren't distracted by their beauty and can focus on the reason why they are in church, to offer worship to God. This is why St. Paul tells us that women should have their heads veiled while in church or praying, so that the glory is given to God and not to the woman's beauty.

if u have a sweater, cropped top, shrug, or cardigan 2 wear over it, then it's fine. it's not modest enough to wear by itself in my opinion. any other place it would b fine, but not 4 church. offer her one of urs if she doesn't have one, or tell her (kindly) that she might wanna change b4 u go.

it depends a lot on the occasion and how fancy it is.. Personally, i dont dress up for church, but she could dress it up by layering tanks, or wearing a knee-length skirt, or a cute little jacket. remember though: it is her decision, not yours.

it could be in purely one situation if it became all which you had! yet that below the main suitable circumstances isn't the case. gown in a intense-high quality button shirt and the suitable pants you need to flow with it your unlikely to impress God you're moving into an physique of innovations of worship and honor and glory

Please no... a tank top alone is not appropriate for church. Does she have a light sweater or sleeved top she can wear over it?
