Sit outside in the shade to eat, on sunny days that is.
You could walk outside for a while, like doing your shopping or going to work, (park you car about 10 minutes walk from home or work,) if it is overcast you can do this for a longer time than when it is sunny.
If it is a sunny day, wear a hat, to keep the direct sun of your face, till you have a bit of colour.
If you want a bit of tan on your body too, try wearing different colours of thin shirts during anything you do outside, as the sun will get through some textiles, but not all.
And be carefull not to stay in the sun too long, whatever you do.

Haha, you're talking to the EXPERT here.
I'm so pale, but i cannot stand it, and all my friends do fake tan and stuff because sun bathing time is VERY limited over here in England.
Sunbeds are a good way, but because you're pale its abit risky. You could burn and then the risk of cancer is higher...
Fake tan is the easiest way, and there are two ways you could go about it..
1. Get a Spray Tan.
Its great, you stand there (you don't HAVE to be naked!) and get brown! But in some places charge quite abit.. Its also a good way to get you started, because when it startes to fade you can just re-apply some fake tan and it will keep natural.
2. DIY.
There are loads of different brands of fake-tan out there, some obviously better than others.. I have had so many different types of fake tan.. I have become orange quite alot. The best is probably 'St Tropez' for an instant bronzed look, but if you want to build up slowly, Dove tinted moisturizer is great! It doesnt wash off in the shower and it is gradual so you can stop when you get to the colour you want to be. Plus you can keep topping up.
A Few Tips..
Start from the bottom up when tanning.. wahsing your hands after every part you do.. For Example, do left leg then wash hands.. do right leg then wash hands.. etc! Its a tiresome process but better than ending up with orange hands in the morning!
I advise to do your arms last, because when you're wahsing your hands, water can jump up and leave splash marks on your arms.
pay careful attention to: your ankles, knees, elbows and wrists..
I tend to do my faketan just before i go to bed, let it dry abit and then sleep. So it can develop overnight and you're not moving around, which decreases the risk of streakyness.
In the morning, when you have a shower, the residue of the fake tan will run off and leave a more natural looking tan because most of it has soaked into your skin.
I also avise you to get a bottle of tinted moisturizer even if you decide to get St Tropez, because then you can top your tan up little by little..
WARNING: its not 100% bullet-proof. I often get streaky bits and orange parts. I recommend you get a spray tan to start you off with and then get tinted moisturizer aswell.
Good Luck :)

It depends on who you are. Some people look beautiful with pale or translucent skin, and others look great with tanned skin. People who are naturally pale who try to get really tan just look weird. Half the girls at my school are orange and disgusting looking...and it's really not very attractive. Personally, i think whatever someones natural skin tone is what looks best.

If you are fair skinned you may not be able to tan full stop. you could just burn and go white again. The only safe way to tan for any one is use a high factor cream. If you don't tan through it then you probably just have to stay pale. the only consultation is when all the tanned people get wrinkly looking from over exposure to the sun. you will still look young. ha

Two words my friend. Fake Tan. You can either do it yourself, of if you fancy standing around naked in a cubicle you can pay someone to spray it on for you.
