I play guitar- simply because it's a beautiful instrument i love how it can be played to accompany different moods, however i feel my guitar is always there to suite the mood.I've been playing for about two years.
I also play violin which is a calm instrument and my friends (a few of them) joined in after i did and it's great being able to play and express myself.Been playing this for about a year and a bit.

Yeah, I play the standard school band instruments. (I'll list them in a minute.) It's just something I love being able to do, and I'm good at it, which makes it even more fun. I'm going to Major in Music Education, and be a band teacher when I grow up, because I can't stand the thought of having a "normal" job. I want a music-oriented job with social interaction, i.e. conductor/teacher. It's also really nice that I've had such good band directors all throughout my school career, and they've all had such a huge impact on me. Anyway, without any further ado, here is the list of instruments I play, along with how long I've played each.

Trombone - 9 years (All-East Coast Band)
Euphonium - 5 years (All-State Band)
Tuba - 4 years
Trumpet - 4 years
Recorder - 3 years
Piano - 2 years
Clarinet - 1 year
Flute - 1 year

The only thing I really regret is not having much experience on is the French Horn. I've picked it up and fiddled with it a bit, but never really "learned it" like I learned the other ones. It's by far my favorite instrument in a full orchestra, so I plan on learning it over the summer and playing it in my youth orchestra next year.

I took up the banjo about two months ago, first instrument I have ever tried to play and I am 46, but I went on a week long course which was really great, and now I am practising about 8 hours a day, as I am determined to be able to play it reasonably.

I used to play the violin at school and still have my own and so does my Fiance. I also have a flute and a guitar, both of which I should learn to play if I ever get round to it. I love the mellow sound of the flute and I think the guitar looks easy to learn. I can also play the recorder and the organ in a fashion. Well lets put it this way, I can play anything on the organ with chords as long as its kum bye ya ha ha ha!

Currently, I'm playing the piano/keyboards, guitar, bass guitar, violin, and I'm teaching myself to play the drum set. I have played the violin (first stand and first chair in high school) from the 6th grade to now. Have played the cello, bass and viola when I was in school. Have been in two metal bands (played guitar and bass) when I was in high school. Now, I'm focusing on my music career...trying to be a famous musician and singer/songwriter. Playing and creating music has been and will be my whole entire life!

I have been playing piano (self-taught) since I was 3 years old. I am now 28.

I would love to be able to play the piano or guitar. But I cant. As a child, I played the trombone very badly, and as I was so small, my arms were not even long enough to reach the last note!

i play the guitar, mostly because about 2 years ago, my dad got a dvd of led zepplin and i was inspired by jimmy page. now i've moved on to electric and all my friends start playing which if funny coz i'm just one step ahead of them.
the only downsides of playing it is you have to tune it up like all the time and the strings always break.
