It's a McCulloch Eager Beaver 2.0 cid.
It does run ,when I put a little gas in the cyl. or carb, so I know it's getting spark
I'm guessing that it has something to do with the carb gaskets.
How hard is it to replace the carb. gaskets? How do I get to them?(how much of the saw do I have to take apart to get to carb?)
How much would a small engine shop chargr to do it?
The saw was free, so I don't mind putting a little work into it.
Thanks

There are no fuel filters or floats on this carb. The problem is that your fuel pump is ripped.

This and most other chainsaw carbs look like a square aluminum block. They generally have one or two gaskets, one rubber membrane that acts as a gasket and fuel pump, some fuel air mixture screws and a spring.

They are simple to rebuild. Take them apart, clean everything really good with carb cleaner, (use 2 cans if needed), and put it back together the same way you took it apart. No torking or adjusting needed, except the fuel mixture screws.

The kit at this link is to rebuild 4 or 5 different carbs. That's how they make all the kits.

God Bless

my guess since it was free is that it hasnt been used in some time. best thing to do is have it brought into a shop and let them put a new carburetor on it. if it needs a fuel line or a filter they will replace that to. this should cost you under $100.00 and for a free saw thats not to bad.
do not ever spray starter fluid into that saw! everyone does this and it wrecks the rings and gaskets! bring it in and let a pro fix it. when you use it, make sure you drain out the gas and restart it till it dies. this will prolong the life of your new carburetor. fuel preservatives do not work!! they only waste your money.

Check the fuel filter first. Take the gas cap off, take a flashlight and shine into the tank. Use a small screwdriver or needle-nose pliers and pull the fuel line out of the tank. The filter is at the end of the line.

could be a clogged fuel line

could be float in carb is stuck

easy to get the carb apart - the fun comes in putting it back together - and it works
