Well I did find out I was adopted . My biological father tried to kill my mother when she was pregnant with me . He tied her to a bed and removed all her clothing and anything that could be used to wrap herself up if she did manage to escape . Then he turned on all the gas jets in the apartment leaving her to die . My maternal grandmother saved my mom and me when she happened to drop by for a visit . Anyway to answer your question . My mother later remarried and the man she married adopted me . When I found out , I was so happy because I figured that this wonderful man choose to be my daddy when my real father abandoned my mother and me to die . Even as a fairly young child I can remember feeling so proud because This man chose to be my father when my real father would have prefered me dead . Most people have the ability to have children even though they may not want to . I find it very encouraging to know that even though someone may not have the ability to reproduce that they can still open up their hearts by choosing to become a parent to a child that is other wise unwanted by biological Parents

Look at it this way! You are adopted that much is true can't change it and probably would not want to change it Right? You were chosen what a precious gift to give a child born of the heart and not the body, but that does not make you any less their daughter, no my child it makes you more of their child. Mothers and Fathers should love their kids unconditionally! and with that in mind you are the luckiest daughter in the whole world! For you are Chosen!

At first, I would be very shocked and probably hurt a little.
But then again, it says a lot when someone CHOOSES to love and raise you. It wasn't forced upon them. They actually went looking for ME to love. They didn't set out with the intention to have a baby and love it no matter what. They would've looked over a lot of babies and children and decided that I was the one they wanted.
So I would eventually accept and appreciate it. I would even be able to come to terms with the fact that I wasn't told because it was thought to be in my best interest.

I would feel confused, anxious and sick to my stomach at first but then, would inmediately try to find out who my real parents were just to have some answers on "why I say or do what I do".
No matter what, you are a parent not because you necessarily "bore" a child, but because you welcomed "love and devotion" to yours and somebody elses life.

i'd be a little hurt that my adoptive parents didn't tell me when i got older and then start thinking about all the reasons my birth parents gave me up.

I think I would be very shocked if I found out now - simply because I am almost 30 years old.

Curiosity would be with me, I would want to know the genetics more for health reasons, I suppose, but having a loving family whom had raised me is comfort enough.

Well, somebody cared enough about the future to give me a better one than they could provide. That would comfort me, but I would wonder why they hadn't told me sooner?
