Way to much information.

Period length can vary among women and even vary in length with the same woman from time to time. I used to have periods lasting 8 or 9 days sometimes. The norm is between
3-5 days. So if you occasionally have a period that is seven days, I think it's o.k. If you have one on a regular basis, I would see a gynecologist. Excessively heavy periods can be caused by a hormonal imbalance, fibroids or cysts on the ovaries. Also, if it does last seven days, by the 5th, 6th and 7th day, it shouldn't still be heavy but should be decreasing and tapering off. The fact that it is heavy that long and lasting 7 days, you should keep an eye on it. Like I said, if this becomes something that happens regularly, get it checked out. If it only happens two or three times a year, just monitor it for right now. Hope this helps!

You have a legitimate question, so ignore the first reply you got that it was "too much info"...it seems that this girl has been posting snotty answers all over this site.

A woman's period will fluctuate sometimes...some months will be light & quick...and others will be longer & heavier. If you are uncomfortable or nervous about your personal time frames, by all means set up an appt with your DR.

Good Luck to you.

It's not "way to much detail" as the person above said.

It depends on alot of things how heavy people's periods are.If it's annoying you or you are worried you could see your gp.They can give u a pill to help lighten your periods etc.Good luck!

Its normal. Especially if you started menstruating recently.
