Just cease contact with her. I agree with one of the comments above - it'll only lead to more and more problems, such as her wanting money and causing crime to make your life misery. It's really not worth the hassle. Just say to yourself "whatever" and leave it at that. I don't want to sound harsh to her, I mean, maybe she does have problems but why would she call you? Why not all her close friends back home? Why would YOU be the first person she'd call if she hardly knows you? I mean, maybe it's the whole idea that she hardly knows you, so it wouldn't matter what she said, but at the end of the day, she'll have friends close to home who'd help her. You shouldn't let yourself get hung up over her being like that. Besides, if she really wanted your help then she wouldn't be so "down your neck" straight off. She'd probably mention it in an IM first and deny there was anything wrong and that she was fine. Most people who truly have a problem would be like that.
To summarise; just ignore her. Or if it gets out of hand, reply and say; "look, we're 3000 miles apart, please just stop bugging me and go to your friends back home who can actually help you."
If worst comes to worst, get her number barred.

Tough one. But because it was my choice to give out my number, i would at least try to solve the problem, but at the same time be very very clear about what is going on and I would tell her very clearly that she can't do what she's doing... I have given my phone number to a person I met through the net too... It is always a risk, but it worked out fine for me and I got a good friend in return... sorry to hear this one needs some work... :) do the best you can. Kindness and diplomacy might save the day...

Welcome to the world of nutty people on the internet--the world is full of them---it is a person searching for someone to control---so do not call or talk to them again--the next thing will be money---which they will never repay---or a visit that will wind up as a crime--stealing from you or a phony rape charge to extort money from you--how could you be so silly as to get so involved---don't change the number---just delete the messages without listening to them. God, get a grip here---the person will stop when they figure you caught on to them. OH yes--if they wish they were dead--tell them that you wish they were, too.

I wouldn't put myself in that type of situation! You are playing Russian Roulette that way.
